President Timothy G. Lynch joined the World Food Movement at its annual gala on Saturday, celebrating the impact of its campus feeding initiative and emphasizing the importance of ensuring that no student has to choose between putting food on the table and pursuing an education.

Lynch underscored the importance of providing meals that are “free, yet with dignity,” noting that use of CSI’s Food Pantry has grown from a few hundred students to approximately 5,000 in just six years.

The evening also included a moving conversation with Leann Maldonado '26 about the role meal assistance played in her journey as a working mother and student. Since April 2026, CSI’s partnership with World Food Movement has provided more than 100 hot vegetarian lunches each week, helping students meet a basic need so they can focus on their education.
