Honors Savannah Scholars took a unique "field trip" to Lane Library’s Special Collections to explore how World War II impacted college life in Savannah.
Guided by librarian and GS alumna Autumn Johnson, students dove into primary sources from the Armstrong Junior College campus—examining vintage ‘Geechee yearbooks, student news articles in The Inkwell, administration archives, and other historic documents to see WWII through the eyes of past students.
A big thank you to Autumn for showing our scholars how world history hits home!

The Honors Global Scholars are building international connections right from the classroom!

Over the course of three weeks, students experienced a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) in action, collaborating with students and faculty at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) Montería in Colombia. This collaboration grew out of an initiative Dr. Amy Potter curated during her Fulbright Specialist experience in Colombia this past January. On Monday, student-led groups co-presented their work on water and sustainability issues in both Spanish and English.

We put the Global in Honors Global Scholars this month!
