PRESS RELEASE
BUFFALO GAP IN THE RUNNING FOR T-MOBILE’S $1 MILLION GRAND PRIZE
OCTOBER 29, 2026
We are pleased to announce that Buffalo Gap High School is one of only four national finalists for the $1 Million grand prize home field upgrade in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition. As one of the four schools in the country still competing, Buffalo Gap has a huge opportunity to make a lasting impact for its students and community. Now, the Bison need even broader support to bring a championship win home to Buffalo Gap.
Augusta County Public Schools truly appreciates everyone who has voted, shared a post, and drafted others to promote Buffalo Gap in this endeavor. The overwhelming outpouring of support from our region and the entire Commonwealth of Virginia propelled Buffalo Gap into this National Championship Round.
To earn the votes needed to keep the $1 Million dream alive, Buffalo Gap must now expand its reach even broader. Families, alumni, businesses, and friends throughout Virginia and beyond are encouraged to share the voting link, talk with neighbors, invite coworkers to participate, and ask additional friends and relatives across the country to join us in spreading the word about Buffalo Gap. Please remember - every vote increases Buffalo Gap’s chances of bringing home this once in a lifetime opportunity to our community.
“The support we have received, not only from our own community, but from people across Augusta County, and beyond has been incredible. What started as an opportunity to get some extra funding to improve our athletics facilities has turned into something greater than we could have imagined. This has brought our students, families, alumni, and community members together in such an extraordinary way. We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us!” -Jesse Ault, Buffalo Gap High School Principal
