Congrats to the first social work student placed with our Fostering Success Program!

'26 graduate Raeann Le Roy was the first social work student placed in the Fostering Success Program on campus. She connected with students who were transitioning from high school to college and set students up for success with a host of wellness and academic resources. In one case, she even attended orientation with an incoming student living independent of a guardian.

"I am in process of getting a job very similar to my role, as a resource navigator. I loved the work!"

Recent social work, sociology graduate Avery Nelson is making an impact in her work for a Marathon County court diversion program! 👩‍⚖️

Recent social work and sociology graduate Avery Nelson is wrapping up a practicum she began earlier this year with the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office. She is part of the court's diversion program that offers some an alternative to having their case sent through the legal system. The program provides resources such as counseling and courses with a rehabilitative focus for those who qualify.

"Every day is different. I admire people I work with! The attorneys and all my co-worker staff are very supportive."
