Congratulations to Ethan Stimac on being named a Niblack Research Scholar!

A Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student at OSU-Tulsa, Ethan is among a select group of undergraduates gaining hands-on research experience through the Niblack Research Scholars Program.

Made possible by the generosity of Dr. John Niblack, the program connects students with faculty mentors and provides opportunities to work in OSU laboratories, explore scientific discovery and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom.

We're proud to celebrate Ethan's achievement and look forward to seeing where his research journey leads!

OSU Fire Service Training is bringing advanced fire behavior training directly to firefighters across Oklahoma.

The program's new Mobile Live Fire Flashover Simulator provides a realistic, hands-on training environment where firefighters can experience the intense heat, smoke and rapidly changing conditions that precede a flashover. Participants learn how to recognize warning signs, make critical decisions and respond safely under pressure.

Funded by FEMA, the simulator makes specialized training more accessible to departments across the state, helping firefighters build the skills and confidence needed to protect their communities and return home safely.

Congratulations to Dr. Hitesh D. Vora on being named the 2026 Energy Manager of the Year for the Central and South United States region by the Association of Energy Engineers!

Vora leads efforts that help manufacturers improve energy efficiency while giving students hands-on experience solving real-world challenges.

This recognition celebrates his leadership and the impact of his work across industry, education, and Oklahoma communities.

For 6-year-old Alaina Hammer, one backyard project became a powerful reminder that she wasn't facing her cancer journey alone. 💜

While Alaina underwent stem cell treatments in an Oklahoma City hospital, Construction Engineering Technology students worked against a three-week deadline to build a surprise in her backyard.

About 10 students contributed nearly 482 service hours to bring the project to life. Support from Manhattan Construction, Google and the Eddie Sutton Foundation helped make it possible.

Every detail was chosen with Alaina in mind, from her favorite color to the toys and furnishings waiting inside.

The students built more than a playhouse. They gave one family a little more joy during an incredibly difficult season.

That description helped earn Dr. Leslie Rex Stockel a place in the 2026 American Society of Safety Professionals Region III Hall of Fame.

From educating future safety leaders to serving the profession for more than 33 years, her impact continues to make a difference.
