Congrats to Prof. Wouter Hoff who received the OSU College of Arts & Sciences 2024 Holistic Science Prize for outstanding achievements in multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, or holistic academic research for his work on updating Linnaean taxonomy in view of recent advances in microbial diversity. Congrats to the OKState student team that won a silver medal at Paris's iGEM (internationally Genetically Engineered Machine) synthetic biology competition! - The interdisciplinary student club consists of members across the Colleges of Arts & Sciences (including our Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics!), Engineering, Ferguson College of Agriculture, Nutritional Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, and Business. They presented their project, "Healios," which aims to engineer a bacteriophage for photodynamic light therapy against Staphylococcus aureus.
