Big congratulations to M.S. student, Blake Robbins for successfully defending his thesis today!

Blake has been an integral part of our program for nearly 6 years- from working as and undergrad in FAPC as well as with meat science research, to coaching the judging team and mentoring many new undergraduate and fellow graduate students.
While we will surely miss him after graduation, we are proud and excited for him to begin his career in the meat industry!

The 2026 Team finished 3rd at the Eastern National to start to the fall season.

The team won beef grading and total beef.

This past week was HIGH QUALITY! 🥩
Our OSU Meat Science group enjoyed interacting with attendees at this year's American Wagyu Association Annual Conference and Post-Conference Tour!

Friday:
Dr. Raviraj Jadeja spoke about food safety auditing and marketing opportunities
Dr. Logan Johnson shared insight on the use of AI and technology in beef marketing
Dr. Megan Eckhardt spoke about the impact of carcass performance on beef cut-out value

Saturday, Dr. Morgan Pfeiffer and Dr. Megan Eckhardt discussed the beef industry impact of increased cattle size

We wrapped up the week on Sunday with a post conference tour of the Robert M. Kerr Food and Agricultural Products Center and beef sensory demo!

Thank you, American Wagyu Association for allowing us to be such a big part of your conference this year and welcome home to Oklahoma!
