Delta College Women's Basketball

Mustangs Madness was a success thanks to our Delta College Athletics teams for attending and participating. We had Delta baseball, football, volleyball, track & field, and golf competing in a 3 pt contest, relay & dunk contest.

3 pt winners San Joaquin Delta W Basketball and San Joaquin Delta College Baseball won the team relay. The dunk contest was exciting watching our men’s basketball team compete with San Joaquin Delta College Baseball & track! Thank you to our sports teams for bringing energy!

Congratulations to FREEMAN Shakira Porter for being our practice player of the week!

During our practice portion of the week, she led the team and field goal, percentage, scoring and rebounding. In our scrimmages against San Francisco, City and Fresno, she stood out in her hustle

Vs SFCC in only 14 min and a half game, she grabbed 10 rebounds and scored four points.

Vs. Fresno City she had 4 steals, 4 points and 2 assists in only 13 minutes of half games.

Starting our Leadership sessions & Freshman Sanai Herrod started us off as our first Physical Leader. She has showed out early as a solid rebounder, defender, and physical scorer. Freshman DJ Jackson was named our Social Leader for her efforts to reach out to all players. She is a teammate who brings tons of positivity to her squad.

Next up: Emotional and Intellectual leaders. The goal is for everyone to learn that leadership comes in all forms. Leading from within leads to 🏆🏆🏆 success on the court.

Big practice week 9/28-10/3 for Sophomore Mia Warren. In addition to her leadership on the floor, Mia is one of our 3-pt shooting leaders shooting 44% last week. She led our team in assists and rebounds during workouts. Let’s go #30!!!

Family and Friends are invited to join our celebration this Saturday, October 3rd in Blanchard Gym to celebrate our historical run to our 1st State Championship for all women’s team sports in College history.
