Academic 🤝 athletic 🤝 spiritual fellowship

Homecoming & Family Weekend wrapped up today after three days of amazing events welcoming our Tigers back to campus.

We cheered on the San Francisco 49ers’ big win against the Seahawks to stay undefeated at a watch party on Knoles Lawn with special guests 49ers Gold Rush, SF Sourdough Sam and Bryant Young in attendance.

Morris Chapel was alive with powerful gospel music, meaningful reflection and celebration of community and culture hosted by our Black Alumni Club.

And finally, at the Faculty Mentor Awards we honored Pacific faculty who, through their personal and professional relationships, fostered student and alumni career development and academic success.

It was an evening of elegance and mystery at the 27th annual Orange & Black Ball, the signature kickoff event for Homecoming & Family Weekend.

The masquerade-themed event celebrated and raised funds for our Tiger student-athletes while providing an opportunity to connect with coaches, alumni and friends of Pacific.

This past weekend, students along with professors Mike Wurtz and Lydia Fox traveled to Yosemite National Park and learned about Yosemite’s geological history and the role naturalist John Muir played in preserving the area and founding the Sierra Club.

The group, including Christopher Callahan and Jean Callahan, also had the chance to meet Muir’s great-great-grandson Robert Hanna and Theodore Roosevelt’s great-grandson Ted Roosevelt IV who recreated the historic three-day camping trip their ancestors took in 1903 which helped fuel President Roosevelt’s work to expand the U.S. National Park Service.

What a great experience less than 3 hours away from campus!

Building connections. Exploring possibilities. Taking the next step. 🧑‍💻

At Pacific’s Engineering & Technology Career Fair, students had the opportunity to connect with employers, explore internships, CO-OPs and full-time roles and learn what recruiters look for—helping them connect their classroom experience to future career paths.

Thank you to every employer who joined us, shared advice and invested time in our Tigers. Your conversations help students see what’s possible and take their next steps with greater confidence!

James Walsh, Pacific's chief financial officer and executive vice president for finance and operations has been appointed to the California Educational Facilities Authority, a five-member board that reviews and approves tax-exempt bonds that can help private, non-profit universities reduce their borrowing costs.

"I have a first-hand understanding of how this funding can help schools and ultimately make a big difference in the everyday lives of students," Walsh said. "There are some universities in the state that might not know these opportunities are out there, and I am excited to get the word out and help more institutions utilize the resources to improve the student experience."

Congratulations, James! 👏👏👏👏
