University of the Pacific - Pacific Humanities Scholars Program The only one of its kind in the nation! Earn your B.A. in three years in a program that combines the arts, Humanities, technology and social justice.

Are you a student with a passion for poetry, art, and performance but are not sure what to "do" with it? Do you ponder philosophical questions and wish you knew people who would - and could - engage in a deep discussion about them? Have you invested creative energy in matters of social justice and community involvement? Have you been recognized for your talents in the humanities, but discouraged by those who consider them impractical to pursue as a career? If you are a high-achieving student who gravitates toward the humanities disciplines, we encourage you to consider applying for the unique Pacific Humanities Scholars program. It is the only program of its kind in the nation, offering an accelerated but enriching educational experience along with a career and community focus. The Pacific Humanities Scholars program is an interdisciplinary path of study that allows exceptional students majoring in the humanities to complete their undergraduate degree within three years.

Kick starting our new series, Let Me Reintroduce Myself, My Name Is, is returning PHUM scholar Mikayla Henry!

She has an update for us regarding her time at Pacific:

“I was the featured artist at the Double Dip Gallery in Lodi. My exhibit, Whimsy and Wonder in Technicolor, hung during August and September and included over 25 original artworks, and countless prints, stickers, and magnets of my pieces. I also have some of my art prints, jewelry, and stickers available at Hidden Gems Boutique on the Miracle Mile. If you can’t check either of those out, I sell my work online too through my website! https://foraestheticvalue.com/shop/“

The past 2 weeks, the 2nd-year Humanities cohort presented their projects centered around memoir “She Memes Well”. The book, alongside with her hit show Abbott Elementary, was our mediums for analysis each week.

We thoroughly enjoyed her mediums of art, and was happy to have the time to comparatively analyze her life and her work!

Have a great Thanksgiving break, Tigers!
