Today, we celebrated the incredible Class of 2026, which built upon Stony Brook’s tradition of matching into highly competitive residency positions. They’ll continue their training in general practice, dental anesthesiology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics across New York State and beyond. Congratulations to our pediatric dentistry outreach team, which received a 2026 Health Care Heroes Award from . Together with our residents and students, we bring much needed oral healthcare services and information to underserved communities throughout Long Island. Well done, team!

A new chapter in pediatric dentistry outreach is officially underway! On Friday, we cut the ribbon on our new Mobile Dental Care Center, which will continue the school’s commitment to deliver comprehensive oral health care and education to underserved youth throughout Long Island. The MDCC was made possible through the generous support of the , for which we are so very grateful. Thank you as well to all those who helped us celebrate. Here’s to improving countless smiles – and lives – for many years to come!

CommUniversity Day at couldn’t have been better, with scores of children and their parents visiting the SDM mobile clinic and tent for a dental screening, oral healthcare tips and some nifty prizes. The Tooth Fairy even made a special appearance, reading stories to our young visitors. Thanks for coming to see us, everybody!

Today marks a new chapter in the student experience at Stony Brook, as we unveiled our new state-of-the-art wet lab in Westchester Hall. This expansive space will allow students to hone their laboratory skills, develop their appreciation for the fundamentals of prosthodontics, and create customized prostheses for patients. Thank you to our university partners as well as , and Nevin Labs for helping to bring this new lab to life. 🦷 ✂️ 💪
