The College of Business proudly celebrated the achievements of our newest graduates at this year’s Convocation ceremony — a milestone that represents years of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to their future.

Think about where this journey began. The early mornings. The late nights. The moments of doubt that you pushed through anyway. The friendships, the professors, the experiences that quietly shaped who you are becoming.

All of it led here. To this stage. To this moment.

To the Class of 2026 — you are leaving not just with a degree, but with a foundation built to last. The world is ready for what you have to offer. Go make us proud.

Congratulations. Your brightest days are ahead.

Stony Brook University’s URECA Celebration of Undergraduate Research & Creativity brought the campus research community together for one of the year’s most anticipated events — and College of Business students were right in the middle of it.

The URECA Celebration is a university-wide symposium showcasing the breadth and depth of undergraduate research happening across SBU. Students present faculty-mentored projects to peers, faculty, and visitors from across the university — a remarkable demonstration of what Stony Brook undergraduates are capable of when given the space, support, and mentorship to pursue their ideas.

The College of Business was proud to honor our participating students with a reception in Harriman Hall, bringing together CoB students, faculty, and staff to celebrate their contributions to this university-wide tradition. Seeing our students present their research alongside peers from every corner of campus is a reflection of everything we value — curiosity, rigor, and the willingness to do the work.

To every College of Business student who participated in this year’s URECA Celebration — congratulations. Your research represents the very best of what it means to be a Seawolf.

The College of Business at Stony Brook University proudly welcomes our newest class of Beta Gamma Sigma inductees!

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society recognizing the highest-achieving students at AACSB-accredited business schools worldwide. Membership is reserved for the top 10% of undergraduate students — an achievement that speaks for itself.

Watching this group be formally inducted is a reminder of what this community is all about: excellence, dedication, and a commitment to going above and beyond. The hard work you’ve put in brought you here — and this is only the beginning.

Congratulations to our newest inductees — Wendy Buscemi, Lily Colonna, Bernick Cyriaque, Jenna Dolce, Cassandra Edwards, Deven Goyal, Dongjun Kim, Saniya Lopez, Damien Nuey, Angie Pena, Anna Saitzyk, and Joyce Weng.

We also want to extend our sincerest thanks to Lecturer of Management James Dunne, who serves as the Faculty Advisor, and Advisory Board members Carla Sutherland and Marie McCallion for their ongoing dedication to supporting and championing our students. Their guidance and commitment make this chapter thrive at Stony Brook.

Congratulations to each and every one of our newest inductees — we are so proud to celebrate you!

Today, we proudly gathered to recognize the remarkable achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students at the Spring 2026 College of Business Awards Ceremony. It was an afternoon of pride and inspiration, honoring students completing their degrees between Fall 2025 and Fall 2026 — students who’ve excelled in academics, leadership, research, resilience, service and community impact.

From demonstrating resilience in the face of challenge, to driving institutional change, pursuing groundbreaking research, and serving our communities — these Seawolves are already shaping the future of business.

A heartfelt thank you to Interim Dean Julia Bear for her leadership and support, Dr. Margaret Echelbarger for once again serving as our wonderful emcee, and our dedicated Awards Committee — Dr. Margaret Echelbarger, Dr. Stacey Finkelstein, and Dr. Saverio Iaconis.

To our awardees — thank you for your drive, your leadership, and your generosity of spirit. You make the College of Business an extraordinary place to learn, teach, and grow.

Congratulations and Go Seawolves!

Growing impact beyond the classroom 🌱

Last Friday, some of our high-achieving Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society students volunteered at one of Island Harvest’s Giving Gardens. Led by Professor James Dunne, the students prepared farmland on the food bank’s 2 acre farm in Brentwood just in time for the upcoming growing season!
