Gamma Sigma Phi brothers — it’s time to come home to BVU!

Join us for Homecoming Weekend, October 2–3 and reconnect with fellow Gamma Sigma Phi alumni.

On Saturday, October 3, gather with your fraternity brothers at the Gamma Sigma Phi Alumni Alley tent during the BVU football game. It’s a chance to reminisce about your time at BVU, share old stories, catch up with friends and celebrate the lasting bonds of brotherhood.

No matter how many years it’s been since your days on campus, Homecoming is a great time to come back and reconnect.

Buena Vista University’s department of Community and Student Engagement invites all to attend 9/11 remembrance day events sponsored by grant from: Seed Coalition, 9/11 Day, and AmeriCorps.

2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. The following events will take place on campus on Sept. 10, 2026:
- The University will host a panel with first responders at 9:45am in Anderson Auditorium, where students can learn about the history and response of 9/11.
- After the panel, the University will invite local heroes to have lunch with students in the Servery, located inside of the Dows Multipurpose Room in the Siebens Forum.
- The last leg of the event will include a stair climb challenge outside of the Siebens Forum, on the arch stairsteps from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. where participants will climb approximately 2,071 to 2,200 steps. This number represents the 110 stories of the World Trade Center towers to honor the ascent made by first responders on Sept. 11, 2001.

To honor the role first responders played on 9/11 and the lasting impact on rescue and recovery personnel, we are tolling the victory bell throughout the day on Sept. 11, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the BVU booth at the Iowa State Fair! 💙💛

It was so much fun connecting with alumni, friends and Beaver fans throughout the fair. One of the most special parts was seeing so many alumni take a moment to sign our Alumni Wall and leave their mark on the BVU community.

And just as special? Seeing the next generation of Beavers sign our Future Beavers Wall! It was a wonderful reminder that the Beaver family continues to grow from one generation to the next.

Thank you for helping make the Iowa State Fair a special celebration of all things BVU! 🦫

August's Young Alum of the Month is Taylor Krager!

Taylor, a 2024 Business Major, is a Customer Experience Specialist at Farm Credit Services of America. She serves as the ag lending primary point of contact, building strong relationships with customers, prospects, and teammates. She loves establishing connections with local farmers and community members.

Taylor advises current and incoming students to get involved and make the most of your time, noting that "4 years will fly by, but this will be a time that you will reflect on in the years to come with friendships built, memories, & personal growth that will carry you into your next phase of life!"
