PSLA faculty member Nick Goltz and Amelia Martin ’23 (CAHNR) crafted and distributed a survey to assess people’s desire to engage with their local Extension and outreach programs through citizen science. They published their findings in Frontiers in Plant Science.

Developing a more coordinated approach to training citizen scientists could help protect ecosystems from invasive species that don't stop at state borders

Faculty members Jill Desimini and Sohyun Park authored a chapter in this book on Activism in Design Education, published on Sept. 24th, and is open access. As a peer-reviewed book, these chapters are considered significant academic contributions for landscape architecture.

Their contribution highlights their work on increasing accessibility to waterfront areas for the residents of Bridgeport.

At the end of August, PSLA PhD student Yiling Zheng harvested sweet corn from her phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) fertility trials! 🌽

These field experiments are designed to better understand crop response to P and K fertilization and to help improve nutrient recommendations for more efficient and sustainable crop production.

Our farm crew and fellow students came out to help with harvesting, weighing, and sample collection. Field research is always a team effort!
