We get the question all the time..." why would someone want to have a baby outside of the hospital?"

Here at Linden Tree Midwifery, we can think of countless reasons why someone would want to. But we thought it would be more convincing straight from you guys. The families who have experienced it.

Yesterday, we were privileged to attend an amazing birth!! Not only did this momma absolutely rock out her VBAC, otherwise known as a vaginal birth after cesarean, but she pushed out a delightfully adorable 10 pound 10 Oz baby!!

She also pushed out the biggest placenta any of us have ever seen. It was so big we just had to weigh it. And it weighed in at just under 2 pounds.

Amazing things happen when you trust birth and trust the power and wisdom of a mother's body!

We want to give a sincere thankyou to all the families that joined us in marching at the Strasburg Mayfest Parade!!

From the mommas, dads and babies who marched, to the families holding up their babies along the parade route, our cup is so full!!

Events like these show the public that it is our neighbors who are having safe and satisfying births with midwives at home or in birth centers. It normalizes this kind of care so that other families can find out the joy of out of hospital birth with midwives.

It really does take a village, and we are so happy that you are part of our village!

There is a common child birth myth out there. It says that all first time parents should have their baby in the hospital. You know, to make sure they can do it, and when they have a "proven pelvis" they can try for out of hospital birth.

At Linden Tree Midwifery, we believe that how you are treated during your first birth, lays the groundwork for how your future births may go.

This momma absolutely rocked her first birth. She pushed her baby out with zero exams. Her body knew exactly what to do. And I don't think there was a single person there that didn't have chills from how amazing she was.

First time moms absolutely can do it. And this momma is proof!

Today we honor every kind of mother and every motherhood journey. We celebrate the strength, love, intuition, and care that mothers bring into the world every day — through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, adoption, loss, and remembrance.

At the heart of everything we do is mothers. Your wellbeing, your voice, your choices, and your care matter deeply to us. It is our privilege to support and walk alongside you through some of life’s most tender and transformative moments.

We also hold space for the mothers who do not have their babies in their arms today. For those grieving a loss, longing for a child, or carrying memories quietly in their hearts — you are seen, your love matters, and your motherhood is real.
