Our OTA students shined at this year’s Annual Research Exhibition!

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, creativity, and professionalism our students demonstrated as they presented evidence-based research on topics that showcase the diverse impact of occupational therapy.

This year’s presentations explored:

🐾 Animal-Assisted Therapy and its influence on engagement, participation, and overall well-being

🌿 Nature Therapy and Well-Being, examining how time spent in natural environments can support physical and mental health

🌀 The Effectiveness of Fidget Spinners for Children with ADHD, investigating their potential role in improving attention and focus

🖐️ The Effectiveness of Sensory Bins for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, exploring how sensory-based activities may support engagement, regulation, and learning

🎶 Music Therapy for Individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease, highlighting its benefits for memory, mood, and quality of life

Through their research, our students demonstrated a commitment to evidence-based practice and a passion for improving the lives of the individuals and communities they will serve.

OTA students in the wild! Last week a group of OTA students took a break from learning about documentation and motor milestones to spend the day volunteering with the Special Olympics! Students served as buddies to the athletes to assist them to events and cheer them on! Experiential learning at its best!
