ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to Roxie Keim of Lassen College Volleyball on being named our Athlete of the Week!

Roxie helped lead the Cougars to a 3–1 start to the season, making an immediate impact on both sides of the net. Her strong attacking, consistency, and all-around play helped set the tone for a great opening road trip.

Former Lassen College Baseball player Ray Kerr is back in the Major Leagues with the Atlanta Braves after more than two years away from a Major League mound while recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery.

Kerr made his return count, throwing 1⅓ scoreless innings in his first MLB appearance since 2024 — including escaping a bases-loaded, no-out situation without allowing a run.

Ray’s journey from Lassen College to professional baseball — and now back to the Major Leagues after a major injury — is a great example of perseverance and what can happen when you keep taking advantage of the opportunities in front of you.

We are looking for student-athletes who want to be more than just competitors.

We want leaders.

We want athletes ready to help shape the future of Lassen College Athletics.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will give athletes the opportunity to:

🔸 Develop leadership skills on and off the field/court

There is a lot of history behind the Lassen College Wrestling name.

From state and national championships to All-Americans, national champions and generations of Cougars who continued their careers at four-year programs, Lassen Wrestling has left its mark on the sport.

🎬 Our Final Look Back at Some Very Special Moments from This Past Year.
One last trip down memory lane as we celebrate the unforgettable moments that made the 2025-26 year so special.

1️⃣ Volleyball
Olive Chandler seals the win on Sophomore Night! Our volleyball team showed incredible heart, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Shasta College in an unforgettable five-set comeback victory.

2️⃣ Men’s Wrestling
Chris Wells electrifies the home crowd with a huge upset, pinning a Sacramento City opponent in one of the most exciting moments of the season.

3️⃣ Women’s Basketball
Mili Crosno delivers pure basketball brilliance, throwing the ball off a defender’s back before hitting the game-winning shot while being fouled.

4️⃣ Men’s Basketball
DeCarlo Browne knocks down a dagger three-pointer to seal a big conference victory over College of the Siskiyous.

5️⃣ Women’s Wrestling
Alexandra Loretto secures a dramatic pin-for-the-win against Sacramento City, giving the Cougars another memorable home victory.

6️⃣ Baseball
Ethan Beede comes through in the clutch with a walk-off base hit to defeat Feather River College.

7️⃣ Softball
Jhan’z Kaawa-Kawai sends everyone home happy with a walk-off three-run home run against Feather River College.

8️⃣ Rodeo
Shelby Dunning and Bodey Ratcliff punch their ticket to the College National Finals with a qualifying performance in Team Roping.

Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans for making this a year we’ll never forget. Here’s to building on these moments and creating even more memories ahead.

Cougar Pride!

The Cougar Gala may have taken place back in May, but we’re still smiling about what a special night it was.

The evening gave us an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the incredible accomplishments of our student-athletes, coaches, teams, and award winners. It was a night filled with pride, gratitude, and appreciation for everyone who makes Lassen College Athletics special.

A huge thank you to our cafeteria staff for providing a fantastic meal and helping make the evening memorable. We also want to recognize Monteil Ackley and Cody Evans for their help with the setup and for creating an outstanding mocktail bar that was a hit throughout the night.

Most importantly, our Cougars showed up dressed to impress and represented Lassen College with class. The Cougar Gala continues to grow each year, and we’re excited to keep building on this tradition for years to come.
