At Swarthmore College, we believe education has the power to change lives, and that access to opportunity should not depend on a family’s financial circumstances.

We are proud to announce the Swarthmore Tuition Guarantee. Beginning in fall 2027, domestic students from families earning $200,000 or less with typical assets can attend Swarthmore tuition-free.

This initiative builds on our loan-free financial aid program, which already meets 100% of demonstrated need for all students and supports families across a wide range of incomes.

Discover Swarthmore is an overnight program for high-achieving high school students in the fall of their senior year. If you apply and are selected for the program hosted on campus, we’ll cover your travel costs so you can have a chance to see if Swarthmore feels like it could be a good fit for you.

All interested current high school juniors (graduating in spring/summer 2027) are welcome to apply to Discover Swarthmore. Preference will be given to students who are the first in their family to attend college; rural and small town students; and students from low-income backgrounds or who might not otherwise be able to afford a trip to campus.
