Join us in celebrating International Peace Day on October 7 with a special screening of Pearls of Peace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPEIaXiYDOc)(2026), a documentary following alumni Lynn Salvo ‘71 on her extraordinary record-setting journey cycling 4,300 miles through 12 European countries campaigning for peace.

Lynn Salvo ‘71 is a four-time Guinness World Record holder—the oldest woman to cycle across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Salvo embarks on cross-continent bicycle journeys to honor her brother John Thomas West, an Air Force pilot who was killed in Laos during the Vietnam War. In 2023, she biked across the entire continental United States to create a GPS-art outline of a peace sign, breaking several world records along the way. The one hour screening of her documentary, Pearls of Peace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPEIaXiYDOc)(2026), will follow Salvo’s mission to promote peace on her newest record-setting journey as she becomes the oldest woman (at age 75) to bicycle across Europe from the Arctic Ocean to the Strait of Gibraltar. Salvo’s experience explores healing from the costs of war and the universality of the fight for peace across the globe.
This event is open to the public and light refreshments will be available.
