Swarthmore Gender & Sexuality Center All students are welcome in the GSC.

Through programming, education, and encouraging activism, the GSC fosters a welcoming community where students can thrive, connect, and celebrate their authentic selves. The WRC offers resources, programming, and support for all women, as well as all other marginalized genders (including, but not limited to, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people). We partner with other campus organizations and offices to strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus community that promotes gender equity and awareness.

Let’s do the Time Warp ....again! Join us for Swarthmore’s annual screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Jim Sharman, 1975) on Friday, October 30 at 8pm in the Kemp Family Commons. Expert Transylvanian guides will walk us through the film with (in)famous call-and-repeats, props, and more.

Co-sponsored by the Department of Film and Media Studies, the Gender and Sexuality Center, the Office of Student Engagement and the Drama Board. Funding supported through the Sager fund.

Have you ever witnessed sexual violence and weren’t sure how to stop it? Join us for bystander intervention training, led by the Delco Victim Assistance Center.

Wednesday, October 28 | IC DOME | 5-7 PM | Dinner Provided

Bystander intervention is the act of recognizing a potentially dangerous or harmful situation and safely stepping in to stop or prevent it. It transforms witnesses into active upstanders who de-escalate conflict, support victims of harassment or violence, and shift community norms. A must attend before Halloweekend.

April 27 - May 1 Swarthmore is recognizing Survivors through various events, activism, and initiatives. Survivor’s Week was honored annually at Swarthmore for many years, but fell off in the 1990s. This year, the GSC, in collaboration with other campus partners, is reviving Survivor’s Week. Although the founding of Survivor’s Week was created with sexual violence in mind, our renewed Survivor’s Week honors those individuals who have experienced all forms of harm, including sexual, homophobic, racist, and other identity-based violence.
