The Zeta Chapter of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is would like to extend a huge congratulations to our Hermana Diana Varo-Lucero (H. Xōcahu, SP 22)! 🦋🎉🤍

Some honors/awards that Diana received as a Graduate Student was graduating with Summa Cum Laude and being an Our Time Has Come Scholar. 📚🥳

Advice that Hermana Xōcahu gives to incoming students is that “we can endure much more than we think we can, so never give up on yourself or your goals no matter how difficult life gets!” ✨

Some of Diana’s future plans will be to focus on defending her Master’s project this upcoming year, work on individual creative projects, and to spend time with her family ! 👩🏻‍💻🎥🫂❤️

Hermana Xōcahu, Zeta can’t express how much we are very proud of you! 👏🏽 You are a true definition of a women of strength, women of character. ❤️‍🔥 Through it all, the fire within you has pushed to be the one of the few Latinas in your program. Advice that Hermana Nodisáci gives to incoming students is that “you must learn to procced without certainty .” ✨

The Zeta Chapter of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is would like to extend a huge congratulations to our Hermana April Santana (H. Aztóraiuh, SP 22)! 🦋🎉🤍🎓

Some awards and honors that Hermana Aztóraiuh achieved is graduating with Summa Cum Laude and being on Dean’s List every semester of her undergraduate career. 📚🥳

Advice that she gives to incoming students is to “trust that everything will work out in the end and that everything happens for a reason.” ✨

This past weekend, Las Hermanas from the Zeta Chapter of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. made a trip to our Alpha Chapter to support an Hermana participating in the Black & Gold Pageant hosted by the Almighty Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. 💐🖤💛

We were amazed by the tremendous talent highlighted through this pageant especially by our Hermana! 🤍 Keep shining and uplifting the voices of women of color everywhere you go! 👏🏽❤️

This is not a goodbye but a see you soon porque La Hermandad Nunca Termina ❤️‍🔥🦋 Hermanas, remember: “Some are lost in the fire. Others are born from it” and you have shown that you are built from it 🔥 You have shown us that you are Women of Strength and Women of Character who can problem solve and overcome so much. There is a bright future ahead for all of you!

🦋🎓 PI CHI EXCELLENCE 🎓🦋

❤️‍🔥 Favorite Memories:

One of my favorite memories at SU was when I first got dropped off to college. We had gone to eat together as a family like we always did. I remember my brother pulling me out of my dorm and telling me “Manita you’re going to do great! I’m so excited for you! Remember to keep your head up high and I’m always a phone call away.” Those words made me feel so melancholic but what my brother was saying was true and I was excited to start a new chapter.

Another memory is when I had participated in orange after dark with my friends. It was a Friday and we all went bowling. I remember having to run from slocum to Goldstein because the bus was leaving. Once we got to the bowling alley I remember letting the bowling ball go and it going behind me 😭 by accident. We all just laughed. It was a really fun time!

Another memory was when I met my partner. We had met through a common friend and he had asked me out to go for insomia cookies since I already ate that day. That day was honestly so much fun because we just sat down and talked about funny things that happened to us, college and life. I just remember laughing uncontrollably and having a fun time❤️

❤️‍🔥 Post-Graduation Plans/Goals:

One of my goals is to pursue my license in social work so that I can practice social work, specifically therapy for children who’ve experienced trauma.

Another goal of mine is to spend as much time with my family as I can. Visiting them more ofand doing more activities together. You never know when your last goodbye will be.

❤️‍🔥 Advice to Freshmen:

An advice that I have for incoming freshmen is to pursue your dreams, don’t let your friends or anyone influence you to do something you don’t want to. I know it’s easier said than done, but be assertive. Of course you can ask for people’s opinions, but you don’t need to do what they say all the time. You are your own person, no one owns you. And remember it’s okay to say “no”, this is a perfect way of putting boundaries. FOMO (fear of missing out) is real, but its only real if you make it. So again don’t forget to be assertive and go enjoy your 4 years in college! Live it up!! ✨

❤️‍🔥 Favorite Memories:

My memorable times at Cuse have been filled with the people that I met 🫶🏽 from meeting my friends in summer start 2019, late night walks, spontaneous adventures, and challenging myself academically. I have had the opportunity to see myself grow and follow my passion within SLP. Joining ΛΠΧ and meeting my LS/Pros have been the most memorable because of the lifetime Hermandad and support 🦋 it’s never a dull moment just live, laugh, love 🥰

❤️‍🔥 Post-Graduation Plans/Goals:

Post graduation I’ll be completing my M.S. in Speech Language Pathology at SU🍊I’ll be graduating in May 2025 and hopefully be a certified fellow SLP (:

❤️‍🔥 Advice to Freshmen:

For any incoming freshman it’s okay be nervous/scared, that means you’re ready for new adventure😊 Everyone is in their own path so never compare your successes to others. Join orgs/clubs, apply to those jobs, and have fun. These 4 years do fly by so congrats on orange journey 🍊🫡
