In April–May 1978, Point of Contact featured a remarkable literary preview: “P***s Angelical (fragmento)” by Argentine novelist Manuel Puig—Chapter 2 of a novel that had not yet been published in book form.
P***s angelical would appear the following year, in 1979.
One of Latin America’s most innovative twentieth-century writers, Puig blurred the boundaries between literary fiction and popular culture, drawing freely from cinema, melodrama, popular romance, and everyday speech. His work also challenged conventional ideas about gender, sexuality, desire, and identity.
