We have a textbook author in the house! Congrats to Professor Jane Burrell on her new introductory nutrition textbook: Nutrition Essentials: A Personal Approach, published with McGraw Hill and co-authored with Beth Basham. This will be the primary resource for students in our NSD 225 course.

We recently welcomed the athletic training staff from Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists to our ACE Center for a professional development presentation from Assistant Professor Jessica Garay about sports nutrition and dietary supplements. These ATCs work with high school student athletes across Central New York. It was great to connect with fellow allied health practitioners working in sport!

Congrats to our MA program director, Nikki Beckwith, for co-authoring a recent article published in the Journal of Critical Dietetics!

"Promoting the Diversity Pipeline in the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession Through Recruitment Videos for Elementary, Middle, and High School Audiences" overviews the project that Nikki worked on as part of a task force for the Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors professional organization. Portions of these videos were filmed on campus at Syracuse University and featured alumni from our program!
