SUNY Upstate Pathology Residency Program Devoted to the ACGME-accredited Anatomic and Clinical Pathology training program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and its residents.

SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse offers a ACGME-accredited training program leading to American Board of Pathology certification in combined anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP). The residency consists of structured rotations in anatomical pathology and clinical pathology with interspersed elective time designed to meet the changing needs of future pathologists. ate Medical University (Upstate University Hospital, Upstate Community General Hospital, Upstate Cancer Cancer, Central New York Biotech Accelerator), the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office and the affiliated Veterans Affairs Hospital immerses trainees in all aspects of anatomic and clinical pathology, including molecular pathology, digital imaging, clinical informatics, surgical pathology, neuropathology, hematopathology, cytopathology, forensic and autopsy pathology, kidney and transplant pathology, pulmonary pathology, eye pathology, dermatopathology, OB-GYN pathology, clinical chemistry, hematology, cytogenetics, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. All residents receive training in both laboratory management and in laboratory information systems. There are varied opportunities for research, with particular emphasis on the application of molecular, biochemical, immunologic, and morphologic approaches to the study of disease processes.
