In the Onondaga language, Ongwehonwe refers to Indigenous/Native American/American Indian/First Nation Peoples. In choosing our alumni club name, we honored the Onondaga Nation who's ancestral homelands Syracuse University rests on.

Join the Indigenous Protector Movement on Thursday, August 20 from 5:30–7:00 PM at the Minneapolis American Indian Center for a panel discussion “Our Relationship to Pipestone: Culture, Ceremony, and Protection.”
Pipestone is more than a resource—it is a sacred place tied to ceremony, responsibility, relationship, and generations of Indigenous peoples. As another pipeline proposal looms, we are bringing community together to center Indigenous voices and speak about what Pipestone means, why it must be protected, and what our responsibilities are to the generations yet to come.
We are honored to welcome an incredible panel:
