Here’s another reason OCM BOCES is ... 🩺

Every year, we help our Health Occupations students launch meaningful careers right here in Central New York. Today, we brought those opportunities under one roof at our 2026 Health Occupations Career Fair!

A huge thank you to St. Joseph's Health - Syracuse, NY, Upstate Medical University, Crouse Health, and all 25+ partner organizations who joined us and helped make today an absolute success.

What a fantastic open house at our Crown Road Campus! 🍕👕

It was great having our students and families in our classrooms, catching up with our incredible staff, and enjoying some pizza and salad.

We also loved promoting our campaign to encourage attendance...and some lucky folks went home with free swag!

Massive thanks to our staff for making the night run so smoothly, and to all the families who joined us. Let's make it a fantastic year! 🙌

We were thrilled to welcome dozens of education leaders from across the state, including Regent Patrick A. Mannion, for a meeting of the New York Inspires Transformation Coalition.

We are so proud to host these critical conversations that shape the future of learning for our students. Today kicks off a collaborative, year-long journey to explore and build upon the shift toward a local assessment philosophy. A special thank you to Ceylane Meyers-Ruff, New York State Education Department Senior Deputy Commissioner for Education Policy, for providing a wonderful welcome and grounding to start our day, and to Zach Warner, NYSED Assistant Commissioner for the Office of State Assessment, for leading our strategy focus.

Big shoutout to all the MTSS leaders who came to our Main Campus today for the 2026 kickoff!

If you're not familiar with MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support), it’s essentially our game plan for looking out for the whole child. It’s a practical, data-driven approach to helping our youth thrive academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.

More importantly, it’s how our component districts:

• Make sure no student’s needs go unmet
• Stop working in silos so our support systems actually connect
• Focus on a student's overall well-being, not just academics
• Help every single kid grow, no matter where they are starting from

Supporting our students goes far beyond classroom walls. When life outside of school is taken care of, focusing on personal and academic goals becomes so much easier.

That’s why this morning’s Community Service Fair was such a win! We brought together 30+ local partners to connect directly with our Adult Education and Literacy students, offering support for healthcare, childcare, career growth, mental health resources, and more.

A huge shoutout to every agency, volunteer, and team member who helped make today so impactful and inspiring!

If you walk across Main Campus, outside our STARS Alternative High School, or around Cortland Alternative School today, take a look down at the sidewalks. 👀

For our students and staff came together for . They covered the pavement in messages of hope, encouragement, and reminders that no one has to carry things alone.

A big thank you to everyone who grabbed some chalk and helped spread a little extra kindness this week! It matters more than you know. 💛

It was a lively Monday at OCM BOCES as school social workers, psychologists, counselors and educators from our 23 component districts came together to kick off another year of the OCM BOCES Regional Crisis Intervention Team.

Coordinator Hillary Arnold and her team led participants through a series of fun, challenging and engaging activities designed to strengthen essential skills such as communication, collaboration, teamwork, trust and problem-solving.

The strength and commitment of our Regional Crisis Intervention Team is another reason why OCM BOCES is . When schools work together, we’re better equipped to support students, staff and one another when it matters most.

Thank you to all of our participants for being part of this critical resource for our school communities! 💙

And just like that, day one is in the rear view. 🚗

It was so good having everyone back in the building today at our Cortlandville Campus, Crown Road Campus, and Innovation Tech High School!

A big thank you to our teachers and staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to get everything ready, and to our families for helping make this morning run smoothly. 🙌
