Thank you so much to Sam Skaller for coming to speak with our chapter about the "It's On Us" movement on the Syracuse campus. It was a well attended, highly educational event. We look forward to continuing to learn more and get more involved in the future. Additionally, thank you to our newly elected Road chair Brother Eric Winikoff for organizing the event.

Hello all! The holiday season is finally upon us, and we hope you and your families have a blessed and safe end to 2016. The holiday season is such a vibrant and exciting time, especially at a place like Syracuse University. Unfortunately, for many children, the holiday season is not so easy. In the spirit of giving, this Christmas we will be participating in "Operation Santa" sponsored by Bishop Brady High School in Concord, NH. We have received a Christmas wish list from an underprivileged child who would like some new clothes that he can exercise in. His only request was that they be popular brands that other children have. Together we're going to pitch in and give him the Christmas he deserves. We thank Bishop Brady for providing us with this excellent opportunity to give back!

We are drawing close to the end of SU Pan Am 103 Remembrance Week. Today, we attended the rose-laying ceremony at 2:03, the time that the flight went down. It was an unbelievably emotional and beautiful tribute to the Syracuse students who lost their lives aboard that plane. Stephen J. Boland of Gamma Omicron lost his life that day and to this day we continue to celebrate his legacy. We are proud to stand at this ceremony remembering wearing the letters that he once so proudly wore.

Additionally, today as the ceremony concluded, we were approached by a woman who told us an incredible story. Her own husband, William Daniels, was one of the victims of this tragedy. She said that she sees us there every single year and it has a special meaning to her because her husband was a member of Delta Tau Delta at Emory University.

All in all, it was a wonderful ceremony that we were proud to attend. Special thank you to Remembrance Scholar Sarah Whittaker for her outstanding work representing Stephen J. Boland. Let us always act forward in his memory.

Every day, the brothers of Gamma Omicron strive to incorporate the values and principles of Stephen J. Boland into our daily lives. His legacy will forever live on.

Stephen J Boland was a magnet. People just seemed to like him and he liked everyone. A confidant of many who helped several through tough times, his Delta Tau Delta brothers described him as someone who had a palpable love of life. While studying abroad in London, Steve spent a lot of time at the Apple Studio hoping he’d have the off chance of meeting one of the Beatles. On December 21, 1988 while returning home from a semester of study abroad through Syracuse University, a bomb went off on his flight, Pan Am 103. Steve lived everyday by his favorite saying, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” My name is Sarah Whittaker, I am a dual Communication Sciences Disorders and Marketing Management major from Allentown, Pennsylvania and I am honored to look back and act forward in Stephen’s memory.

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy this weekend of reconnecting and reminiscing. It has been an honor to host you all and we hope to continue this tradition!

Today a few Delts went down to the Maxwell Memorial Library to help them prepare for their upcoming renovations! We moved a few hundred boxes of books from the main room out to a storage pod. As Brother David Pepe put it, "This is the most fun I've ever had moving boxes."

It was a great day helping out a great organization!
