In the field, our MSIII class planned and executed a platoon defense STX lane, while our MSI and MSII cadets focused on small-unit tactics, learning how to conduct squad assaults.

Beyond local training, we had the privilege of sending a team of eight cadets to the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C., where they took 1st place among all ROTC programs in the 2nd “Freedom” Brigade!

Finally, we recognized our Cadets of the Month for their outstanding performance and leadership:

• MSII: Cadet Bryant
• MSIII: Cadet Stafford

Stalwart Stays Disciplined…

This week our cadets executed another training lab for our MS1s/2s focusing on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Radio Communications, while our MS3s conducted a raid mission. Week in and week out we constantly train to improve our tactical proficiency and knowledge within our profession of arms.

Our cadets supported this event to celebrate the inauguration of our 13th chancellor, Dr. Mike Haynie. Students were able to take an ROTC challenge which tested their physical fitness and mental agility, while learning about the Syracuse ROTC program from our cadets.

That’s one sentence from the Oath of Commissioned Officers that our contracting cadets took before the football game on Saturday. Congratulations to everyone for reaching this milestone!

Cadet Clegg recently completed Cadet Troop Leader Training with Direwolf Company, 3-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment!

During his time with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Cadet Clegg was fully immersed in paratrooper operations—participating in airborne operations, sandtable exercises, and a week-long field training exercise (FTX) focused on day and night Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) integration with infantry tactics.

He also tackled the Ranger Physical Assessment (RPA) and had the unique opportunity to conduct PT and lunch with Battalion Commander LTC Commons, as well as engage with the Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

Cadet Simonetty recently had the opportunity to attend the U.S. Army Scout Leader Course (SLC)—formerly known as the Army Reconnaissance Course (ARC). This 4-week course at Fort Benning, Georgia, trains officers and noncommissioned officers in reconnaissance and security operations, as well as platoon-level tactical planning and ex*****on.

Congratulations to Cadet Simonetty on graduating from the Scout Leader Course!
