Bates Tech had a great time at the Tacoma Police Kids Health & Safety Fair at the Tacoma Dome this past Saturday!

Our Barber program, college staff, and President Dr. Lin Zhou loved connecting with local families and attendees.

It was a great day to be out in the community and share what Bates Tech has to offer. Thank you to the Tacoma Police Department for bringing everyone together for such a fun community event!

Bates Technical College honors the life and legacy of former Trustee Cathy Pearsall-Stipek, whose more than 40 years of public service reflected a deep commitment to education and the Tacoma community.

Cathy’s connection to Bates spanned decades. A Bates alumna, she helped oversee the college while serving on the Tacoma School Board and later joined the Bates Board of Trustees in 2015. Throughout her service, Cathy was a dedicated advocate for education, students and our community.

We are grateful for Cathy’s leadership, service and lasting contributions to Bates Technical College. Her impact on our college and community will be remembered for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who made Dental Days a success! 🦷

Last Friday, our Downtown Campus welcomed community members for a day of free dental care while providing hands-on learning opportunities for our students.

Together, we provided an estimated $13,924 in donated dental care to those in need.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of more than 28 volunteers, including four local dentists, our Dental Assisting and Denturist students, and our incredible industry partners who generously gave their time and expertise.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, participated, and helped make a difference in our community. We appreciate your commitment to improving access to care and supporting the next generation of dental professionals!
