About the Speaker: Douglas F. Morgan is a graduate of Union College (BA, Theology, 1978) in Lincoln, Nebraska, and the University of Chicago (Ph.D., History of Christianity, 1992). He is an assistant editor of the Encyclopedia of Seventh-day Adventists. Morgan has served on the faculties of Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland (1994-2020), and Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee (1989-1991). His publications include Adventism and the American Republic (University of Tennessee Press, 2001), Lewis C. Sheafe: Apostle to Black America (Review and Herald, 2010), and Change Agents: The Lay Committee That Challenge the System and Turned Adventism Toward Racial Justice (Oak & Acorn, 2020).
About the Adventist Archives Lectureship: The Adventist Archives Lectureship is a partnership between the WAU Honors College and the General Conference Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR). The Lectureship aims to highlight original scholarly research on Adventist history through lectures and publications.
