Just outside the Seminole Organic Garden, we planted a Dunstan Chestnut—a cross between the American and Chinese Chestnut.

Once one of the most common trees in eastern U.S. forests, the American Chestnut was nearly wiped out by chestnut blight in the early 1900s. The Dunstan Chestnut was developed to bring back some of the American Chestnut’s resilience while producing chestnuts similar in taste and appearance.

We’re excited to watch this tree grow and become part of FSU’s landscape! 🌱

This , meet the Brazilian Rock Rose (Pavonia braziliensis) growing near Seminole Dining's Einstein Bros. Bagels! This hardy hibiscus relative produces small, pale pink flowers with a deep red center throughout the warmer months.

Growing about 5 feet tall and wide, Brazilian Rock Rose is a reliable, low-maintenance plant that brings plenty of color to campus🌺
