We are thrilled to welcome Elena Perez to Dedman as our new Program Associate! 👋

You can find her at the 4th-floor front desk, where she manages the college's front office, handles HR and payroll processes, and provides essential faculty support.

Originally from Miami Beach, Elena brings a strong background in customer service to her new role, ensuring the college runs smoothly day-to-day.

Outside of the office, she is a huge supporter of FSU Women’s Athletics and spends her free time volunteering at local animal shelters.

Last week, our very own Danielle DiBattista was one of just four people across FSU to receive the 2026 Faculty/Staff Leadership Award. We truly couldn't be more proud! 🌟

Since joining the Dedman family in 2024 as our Career and Event Services Coordinator, Danielle has taken a role that was largely a blank canvas and transformed it into something spectacular. She steps up to the plate time and time again, proving herself to be exceptionally reliable, hard-working, and hands-down one of the best team players we’ve ever had.

This award recognizes staff who go far beyond their job descriptions to support students with an exemplary, enthusiastic attitude. And that is Danielle to a T. She brings so much passion and industry expertise to the table, and her attentiveness makes a massive difference every single day. It's no surprise that she is loved by our faculty, staff, and most importantly, our students.

There is nobody more deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Danielle! Thank you for everything you do for our college. 🥂✨

Thank you to Trinchero Family Estates for donating their Bravium Pinot Noir 2023 from Wiley Vineyards as part of a unique tasting during the Contemporary Research Symposium held this past weekend.

Last week, our students proudly represented the FSU Dedman College of Hospitality at the Club Management Association of America World Conference in Anaheim, California. It was an incredible experience filled with growth, connection and professional development.

They had the opportunity to engage directly with club executives, learn from respected industry mentors, and participate in sessions that brought strategy and leadership to life.

That experience was reflected in their performance. Dedman's student chapter earned three first-place awards at the "Idea Fair" poster competition and made a powerful impression at the Student Chapter Showcase.

We are especially proud to celebrate alumna Janine Budzius on her election as 2025 Vice Chair of the Club Management Association of America. Her leadership reflects the strength of the Dedman community and serves as a powerful example of what is possible for the students following in her path.

Leadership at every level is strengthened by partnership 🌟 Thank you to Kelly Grabowski and the CMAA Florida Chapter for their continued support through scholarships and mentorship. Meet Brian Gurley, the college's new Graphic Design & Marketing Assistant 👋🏾

Brian brings two years of experience in digital media, creating graphics and social content. He has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and is currently pursuing his master’s in marketing with a focus on digital marketing. Outside the office, you’ll find him gaming, trying new restaurants, or watching movies with friends. He’s also passionate about photography and is always on the hunt for good food 🍕

Meet Elizabeth Engstrom, one of our Academic Advisors ✨

A two-time FSU alumna, Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in 2022 and her master’s in 2025. She supports students with academic planning, course scheduling, and connecting to opportunities and resources across FSU and Dedman. Elizabeth studies ancient Greek history, and previously taught world mythology at FSU. When not at work, Elizabeth enjoys creating art, reading, spending time with her cat, and doing her nails 💅🏻
