Frank Sobczak – an FSU alumnus (B.S. Economics ’94) – was recently promoted to Area Vice President of Medical Devices at Abbott, where he has spent 22 years in leadership roles across the cardiovascular space.

Sobczak leads a team of more than 80 people responsible for launching innovative products in Abbott’s Structural Heart division. He credits his economics education at FSU with building the analytical foundation that has driven his career in the medical device industry.

“Although I am a vice president for a large medical device business, my focus on economics while at FSU readily prepared me for success,” Sobczak said. “Understanding the impact of supply and demand has been the backbone to my grasp and ex*****on in my professional career.”
