The 2025-2026 issue of Engage magazine is hot off the press! Engage is the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy's annual magazine highlighting the activities and successes of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

This year's top stories include COSSPP in Action, a look at how the college impacts Florida through careers, education, and research, enhancing communities at the local, state, federal, and global levels; A Marketplace of Ideas, on how COSSPP builds civil discourse and develops critical thinkers who solve complex problems; and The Future is Made in Bellamy, celebrating the student organizations building skills and connections for career success.

This year's issue also highlights major milestones for the college, including the 25th anniversary of the Master's in Applied American Politics and Policy (MAAPP) program and the 35th anniversary of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). This capstone project gives students hands-on experience in economic research, from data analysis to presenting findings, while sharpening their skills through structured meetings, formal presentations, and technical writing.

FSU's Master's in Applied Economics (MAEP) is a one-year program that equips students for careers in government and the private sector.

Graduates typically start as analysts, junior data scientists, or research associates, with job placement rates exceeding 90% in recent years. Students work closely with faculty, alumni, and civic leaders to apply economic theory to real-world data and consulting projects.

Twice a year, MAEP Career Day brings professionals—often alumni—to campus for interviews and networking, helping students secure internships, prepare for the job market, and connect with potential employers.
