🌟 Help Us Build Our Loose Parts Collection! 🌟

Did you know that some of the best learning tools are everyday items that might otherwise end up in the recycling bin?

At FSU Childcare & Early Learning Program, we use Loose Parts Play to encourage creativity, problem-solving, imagination, and open-ended exploration. Loose parts are items that children can move, combine, design, redesign, and tinker with in countless ways, turning simple materials into endless learning opportunities!

We're currently looking for donations of items such as:
🔹 PVC pipe pieces and scraps
🔹 Glass jars with lids
🔹 Plastic bottles with caps
🔹 Cardboard tubes
🔹 Buttons, keys, and wooden spools
🔹 Fabric, rope, wire, and shells
🔹 Stones and wood pieces
🔹 Bottle caps and pouch lids
🔹 Translucent items for light table exploration
🔹 And more!

Before you toss those treasures, consider donating them to our classrooms! Your unwanted items can become tools for creativity, discovery, and learning.

Donations can be dropped off at our center. Every contribution helps us create richer learning experiences for the children in our care.

Sustainability Fellows Spotlight: Kenyaa Rose

Meet Kenyaa Rose, a second-year Professional Master of Science Aquatic Environmental Science student and Sustainability Fellow! Through her fellowship, Kenyaa is partnering with the FSU Childcare & Early Learning Program to introduce young students to sustainability through engaging environmental education lessons.

Kenyaa joined the Sustainability Fellows Program to learn more about the work being done to create a more sustainable society and to build skills she can carry into her future environmental career. She hopes to continue exploring how accessible environmental education can inspire the next generation to care for our planet.

🌊🌊We practiced cleaning up the ocean today with out FSU Sustainable Campus partner, Ms. Ken.🦐🦂🐠🦈

The children a great job identifying animals and cleaning the garbage out of the water. They all wanted the animals to be safe! 😊

☀️It was a super fun activity that we all enjoyed and learned from.🎉
