“These findings suggest that GLP-1 drugs might help some women stop bingeing by correcting problems with lower GLP-1 release while eating.”

Emerging research by Pamela Keel, a Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor in the FSU Department of Psychology, suggests GLP-1 drugs may help reduce binge-eating symptoms in some bulimia patients by addressing a biological factor rather than simply targeting willpower or behavior.

Cenextra — the first ADHD treatment to receive Breakthrough Device designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — was recently featured in Medscape's July 2026 FDA Psychiatry Roundup!

Developed at the Florida State University Children's Learning Clinic and licensed by the startup Sky Therapeutics, Cenextra uses a patented series of mental exercises presented as popular arcade-style video games designed to strengthen executive functioning in children with ADHD.

Nearly one in nine U.S. children has been diagnosed with ADHD. Cenextra, a new digital treatment developed at Florida State University and licensed by Sky Therapeutics, is the first ADHD treatment to receive the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Breakthrough Device Designation.

Built on years of National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported research, Cenextra uses a patented series of mental exercises to strengthen executive functioning, expanding non-medication options for in children with ADHD.
