We intend to provide cultural programs and materials to promote appreciation of AAPI communities. The Asian American Student Union is an agency of the Student Government Association at The Florida State University, and was founded in 1996 by co-founders Faye Hunt and Rich Sealy. Due to the growing Asian and Asian American student body at FSU, the Asian Student Union was created to represent the As

ian community at Florida State. The organization once known as Asian Student Union had transitioned to the Asian American Student Union during the 2006-2007 academic year under the leadership of former AASU Director, Zach Heng. Through the past few years, the Asian American Student Union has expanded to represent 10 other Asian cultural organizations, and increased membership to the hundreds. AASU is involved in and hosts multiple events which create a stronger bond among FSU students by spreading knowledge and appreciation of Asian culture, as well as engaging the campus at The Florida State University on current important AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) issues.
