The Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Sigma Chi at The Florida State University received its charter on March 17, 1951. Since its establishment on campus, it has been a leading contributor to Greek Life at our prestigious university. Our Brotherhood is among the strongest on campus and binds a wide variety of brothers together through the bonds of Sigma Chi. We strive to leave a good impression among those

we help on and off campus and take pride in the values set forth by our founding fathers. Our Chapter of Sigma Chi is proud to be a part of such a great university.

General information

Our Fraternity was founded on June 28, 1855 by seven men who believed in a core of common values. The founding fathers of our Fraternity were initially brothers of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Miami University in Ohio. One of their fellow brothers was running for a position in a literary society on campus called the Erodelphian. They believed that another person deserved the position over their brother due to the man being more qualified. This point of view did not sit well with the other brothers in their chapter. They soon after ventured on to make their own Fraternity which came to be known as Sigma Chi. Between the seven men, they set a foundation for one of the largest Greek Societies in our nation today. The values that they so passionately instilled in the Fraternity are still strived to obtain by our brothers today. The lifelong commitment of being a Sigma Chi is a never ending process of bettering yourself for those around you. The ideals that make up our Fraternity are what separates another individual from a brother of Sigma Chi.
