Last week, our nursing students gave flu shots at the Florida State University College of Law! πŸ’‰

In partnership with FSU Health Services, our students received hands-on experience in patient education, vaccine administration and community health, all under faculty supervision.

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves, and to University Health Services and the College of Law for partnering with us. πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ πŸ™Œ

Congratulations to our doctoral students, Hanne Harbison and Meghan Poe for being named 2026-2028 Jonas Scholars!

They are two of 80 doctoral nursing students selected nationwide by Jonas Philanthropies for their academic achievement, commitment to teaching and research ability. Harbison's research focuses on women's health while Poe's focuses on preventative care.

These scholars will come together to learn from national leaders, build a network of forward-thinking peers and apply grounded and innovative strategies to become successful nursing faculty members. We look forward to cheering them on.

Congratulations to Drew Zhu! πŸ‘ This third-year doctoral student and graduate research assistant recently presented at the fourth Biennial Conference on Caregiving Research in Salt Lake City, held Sept. 23-25.

Zhu's study, "The role of aphasia severity, social support, and resilience on caregiver burden in caregivers of stroke survivors with aphasia," explores how communication challenges, support systems and resilience affect people caring for stroke survivors. It's a great example of research that bridges disciplines, with co-authors from the College of Communication and Information, the College of Social Work and the College of Nursing. πŸ’›

We're proud of you, Drew! 🍒
