Last week, Associate Professor of Art History Tenley Bick delivered a virtual international guest lecture to the Department of Humanities at the Università di Trento in Italy. Her lecture, "La fotografia africana, la diaspora, e l'Italia nella ricerca artistica di Silvia Rosi" (African Photography, Diaspora, and Italy in the Work of Silvia Rosi), was based on Dr. Bick's research on the Italian-Togolese artist's work and Afro-Italian artistic practices in Italy today.
On October 19th, the FSU Department of Modern Languages & Linguistics will host a book talk with Dr. Bick. She will give an overview of her book "Michelangelo Pistoletto: Figuration and Cultural Politics," and then discuss Pistoletto's understudied experiments in real and representational living in his collaborative performance works of the late 1960s and 1970s. We hope to see you there!
