To commemorate the upcoming graduation of Black women at FSU who will graduate Spring 2022 with a doctorate degree, we invite graduates to participate in a campus-wide graduation group photo on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 12:00 noon.

According to an NSF Survey, only 4.4% of doctoral degrees are earned by Black women.

To pay tribute to Black women doctorate degree holders on campus who make up the 4.4%, we also invite Black women faculty and staff with doctorate degrees to attend.

Attendees must register and sign the waiver yay if the link in our bio which gives permission for the photo to be forwarded to University Communications. We hope to bring awareness about Black women pursuing doctoral degrees and to celebrate the cohort's successes!

Let's end the week on a high note! Congratulations to Dr. Tamara Bertrand Jones, associate professor of Higher Education, who received the Presidential Medal from ASHE-Association for the Study of Higher Education. From ASHE, "Tamara Bertrand Jones consistently develops institutional change at a systemic level, combats 'scarcity mentality' in that she filled a void in needed support of others, and creates space for others to grow and shine. While making change, she has also developed structures that will ensure the success and sustainability of her change initiatives, even if/when she is no longer involved."
