You may have recently seen or heard information from the City of Tamarac about its new Temporary Parking Decal Program, which provides short-term overnight parking options in certain communities.

We want to clarify that Banyan Lakes is not included in this program, and our existing community parking rules remain in effect (no overnight street parking is permitted).

We’re sharing this information to help avoid any confusion and ensure homeowners are aware of which City programs apply to Banyan Lakes.

Have a great week!

Please remember school's back in session! Watch out for our youngest residents as they make their way throughout the community. Slow down, exercise caution, and be on the lookout for bicycles.

Quick rule reminder:

Parking on the grass is prohibited throughout our community. While it may seem harmless for a few minutes, vehicles can damage our irrigation system, sprinkler heads, landscaping, and underground utilities. These repairs ultimately impact the community.

Please remember that homeowners are responsible for informing their guests, vendors, and service providers that parking on grassy areas is not permitted. Vehicles parked on the grass are subject to immediate towing without warning, and the vehicle owner may also be held responsible for any damage caused.

From City of Tamarac Mayor Michelle J. Gomez:

The City of Tamarac is actively monitoring the ongoing Everglades wildfire in coordination with our local, county, and state partners.

At this time, the Florida Forest Service is actively engaged in the area. Approximately 180 acres have burned, and the fire is currently 0% contained.

Earlier today, members of Tamarac Fire Rescue, including Fire Chief Johnathan Frasher and Battalion Chief Michael Wilton, responded to the trailhead near Atlantic Boulevard and the Sawgrass Expressway. Tamarac Fire Rescue also deployed a drone to obtain an aerial assessment of the fire and monitor conditions.

At this time, there is no immediate threat to the City of Tamarac.

We understand this is disconcerting and concerning. We ask that you verify information from reliable sources before sharing it, please.

For the latest information from the Florida Forest Service, visit the Florida Forest Service Fire Response Public Viewer.

The City of Tamarac will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as conditions warrant.
