Last week, our cadets had the opportunity to join Tampa Fire Rescue for a 9/11 Memorial Workout at the Bank of America building in downtown Tampa.

Cadets climbed the stairs alongside Tampa firefighters in remembrance of the first responders and civilians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The workout was a meaningful opportunity to honor their courage, sacrifice, and selfless service.

We are grateful to the Tampa Fire Rescue for allowing our cadets to take part in this tradition and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A special thank you to the UTampa women’s and men’s lacrosse teams, along with the university faculty and staff who joined us yesterday. Your participation and support brought our campus community together in a shared commitment to remembrance.

Through yesterday’s and today’s events, the University of Tampa Army ROTC community commemorated September 11, 2001, honoring the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the service and sacrifice of those who answered our nation’s call. As future Army officers, our cadets carry forward the responsibility to remember those we lost and uphold the values of courage, unity, and selfless service.
