One of our outstanding Surgical Technology students is excelling during clinical rotations and recently demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and patient advocacy. While preparing for a procedure, the student recognized that a plastics tray was not sterile and immediately alerted the preceptor before the case began. Thanks to the student's quick action, the team was able to replace the tray, prevent contamination of the sterile field, and avoid any delay in patient care. This impressive catch highlights the student's critical thinking, professionalism, commitment to patient safety, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique.
