The Marriage and Family Therapy program at USF is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Department of Child & Family Studies in the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to contribute to the growth of an established MFT program through research, teaching, graduate student mentorship, and service.

The Masterโ€™s in Marriage and Family Therapy is a full-time, two-year, in-person program and is also Floridaโ€™s only COAMFTE-accredited masterโ€™s program in a public university.

Minimum qualifications:
โ–ช An earned doctorate โ€” or ABD with degree conferred before appointment โ€” in Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Science, Human Development and Family Science, Family Studies, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a closely related discipline
โ–ช An active research agenda with potential for sustained scholarly productivity leading to external funding
โ–ช Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at USF

โ–ช Earned doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or a closely related field
โ–ช Meets university criteria for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
โ–ช Possession of, or eligibility for, Florida LMHC licensure or CRC status within one year of employment

Faculty will teach in-person courses and contribute as core faculty through teaching, research and external grant funding, graduate student mentoring and advising, and community and professional service.

This summer, Claire Dorey, a doctoral student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, spent three weeks expanding her auditory neuroscience skills through the highly competitive Biology of Hearing and Balance course at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

The experience provided Dorey with hands-on training in bench methodologies, opportunities to connect with leading scientists and new research questions to explore as she prepares for her future as a translational bench-to-bedside researcher.
