Good morning guys! Tonight is another General Body Meeting for the Social Work Society at 6pm in the MHC Atrium! Since yesterday was National Voter Registration Day, we thought it would be fitting to talk about the importance of voting and why your voice matters!! We will also be helping people who come to register to vote! Just as a reminder, all are welcome to come regardless of major, political affiliation, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, you name it! And as always there will be food and drinks provided! We hope to see you there!!

Get excited Bulls!! Tonight is our first General Body Meeting of the semester! We can't wait to catch up with old friends and to meet some new faces tonight! As a reminder, everyone is welcome to come to all Social Work Society events regardless of major, year, race, religion, gender, you name it! We are all inclusive!! We are so excited about our event tomorrow! Jeneice Goodwin, founder and CEO of C.O.R.E. Empowering Families Inc., will be coming to speak to us about her non-profit. She has a powerful personal story and was the Bay News 9 Everyday Hero in March 2017. She holds a BSW and is passionate about educating other social workers about how to be culturally competent to those and their families living with disabilities. This event is also GCP approved if you are looking to achieve your Global Citizens Award! We hope to see you there!

Our friend Danielle Alyse is currently trying to fundraise for Girls Place, which is an amazing nonprofit in Gainesville, FL that empowers young girls to become resilient leaders within their community through academics, athletics, the arts, on-site mental health counseling, and so much more! They are trying to raise money to create so they can serve more girls and create an even bigger difference within there community. Just so you know, the fundraiser is for 24 hours and ends tonight at 6 pm! She is also currently hosting a fun activity on her profile where if you are the first to donate any $ amount between $1-30, you could possibly win a surprise, such as Starbucks gift cards or having your donation matched by her -- weird numbers are encouraged to be donated!!
