Congratulations to fourth-year Brandon Dyer and third-year Joel Kallarackal and Robert Baldwin for their published research findings that sudden confusion in hospitalized cancer patients can be a sign of more serious underlying health problems. NEWS: Peter Joseph Embí, M.D., M.S., has been appointed as Director of NIH’s National Library of Medicine (NLM), where he will oversee the world’s largest biomedical library.

Prior to arriving at NIH, Dr. Embí founded the ADVANCE AI Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also served as co-director of the school’s RAPID-Learning Health System in addition to being a tenured professor of Biomedical Informatics, among other roles.
