WHO WE ARE: HANGS & EVENTS 🏕️✨

Many of the best moments of following Jesus happen together. 🤝

Throughout the year, there are plenty of opportunities to step away from the ordinary, have some fun, grow deeper, and build friendships that last!

🍂 Fall Retreat — a weekend away together to rest, have fun, worship Jesus, and grow as a community.

❄️ Winter Retreat (SALT) — every January, we head to North Carolina for a weekend of adventure, Jesus, and intentional community.

And throughout the fall and spring, we’ve got all kinds of events:

🔥 RENEW
🙌 Worship & Prayer Nights
🧠 Apologetics Nights
🤝 UNITE — joint small group nights
🏐 Volleyball & yard game hangs
✨ The Alphies — our formal end-of-year celebration
…and honestly, some of our favorite moments aren’t even “official” events.

Our students also value IMPROMPTU HANGS: Late-night food runs. Random study sessions. Pickup games. Coffee. Movie nights. Spontaneous adventures. Conversations that turn into hours.

We love seeing students create their own spaces to invite people in, foster friendship, and make USF feel a little more like home.

Because community isn’t just something we put on the calendar. It’s something we live.

WHO WE ARE: WEEKLY LARGE GROUP 🎶

For us, Large Group isn’t just another weekly meeting. It’s a place where we encounter Jesus together — through worship, through His Word, through prayer, and through one another.

Every Tuesday night we start at 7:30 in CWY, but come early — there’s always time to catch up with friends, meet someone new, and settle in before the night begins.

Then we worship together with our student band, open God’s Word, and respond through prayer at the altar. 🙌

And afterward? We hang out, grab some snacks (new), and usually make our way to Argos for food, games, and conversations. 🫶

WHO WE ARE: SMALL GROUPS 🤝📖

Our discussion-based Bible studies, called “small groups”, are core to who we are in Chi Alpha! On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights across campus, students gather in dorms and apartments across campus to open God’s Word, ask honest questions, encourage one another, and grow deeper in the Christian faith.

Jesus calls us to “go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19), and that starts with doing life together and helping one another become more like Him. Small groups are one of the places in Chi Alpha where we can disciple each other, sharpen one another, and build meaningful relationships.

We grow in God’s Word: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

We sharpen and encourage one another: “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

We grow in our faith: “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:18

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, you’re just starting to explore faith, or you’re simply looking for community—there’s a place for you here. 💙

WHO WE ARE: ALL ABOUT JESUS ✝️🔥

Everything we do is centered around knowing Jesus and making Him known. There is a gospel that we need to share! Jesus has changed our lives, and we know that Jesus wants to change the lives of others too!

Our campus— and our world 🌎— is hurting, searching, and longing for something (or someone) that can truly satisfy. We can chase success, relationships, purpose, identity, and happiness. Ultimately, we’re all searching until we find Jesus. He is the hope of the world, the Savior for the lost, and the One who gives us new life.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

And He also said:

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” — John 10:10

This is WHO WE ARE.
We’re all about Jesus.
And we’re all about seeing students discover the full life that can only be found in Him. ❤️‍🔥

If you’re searching for purpose, community, or something more this year, maybe you’re closer to Jesus than you think. 👀

WHO WE ARE: AUTHENTIC/REAL ❤️

We hate fake-ness.

We don’t want to pretend we have it all together, put on a “Christian” image, or hide the parts of our lives that are messy. We want to be REAL!💥

Because our identity isn’t found in how we look to other people—it’s found in who Jesus says we are. We don’t have to perform, impress, or pretend. We get to come as we are, because Christ already knows us completely and loves us completely.

At Chi Alpha, we want to be a community where you can take off the mask. A place where vulnerability isn’t weakness, honesty isn’t awkward, and where it’s ok to not be ok. We want to celebrate the highs, walk through the lows, ask the hard questions, confess when we mess up, and point each other back to Jesus through it all. This is where the need for community comes in!

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” — James 5:16

You don’t have to fake it here.

Come as you are. Be known. Be loved by The Lord and His people. Be real. ❤️‍🔥
