Connecting heart health and stroke care. 💚

Dr. Elizabeth Remo, associate professor at the USF College of Nursing and advanced practice registered nurse with USF Health Cardiology, shared her expertise as an invited speaker and panelist at the inaugural Innovations in Stroke and Cardiac Care conference in Orlando.

Her presentation explored how neurology and cardiology teams can work together to connect stroke patients with cardiac testing, treatment and follow-up care to help prevent another stroke.

Representing USF Nursing and the USF Health NeuroCardiac Clinic, Dr. Remo highlighted the role of advanced practice nursing in collaborative patient care.

USF College of Nursing Associate Professor Allyson Duffy joined Interim Regional Chancellor Thomas W. Smith before the St. Petersburg City Council this week to share updates on the launch of the bachelor’s degree in nursing at USF St. Petersburg.💚🤘🩺

Council members also heard from Collin Barnhart, a student in the inaugural Freshman Nursing Pathway cohort, who shared why he chose USF St. Petersburg for his nursing education.

With Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital just steps from campus, students can envision a future caring for the community where they are learning today.
