For years, Rawan Alsaid Suliman's job was behind a pharmacy counter in Saudi Arabia, filling prescriptions and answering patient questions. She never planned on a career in healthcare technology.
But the clinical work kept raising a question she couldn't shake: what happens to all the information behind the medication, the patient record, the system that made each decision possible?
That question led her to USF Health's Master of Science in Health Informatics.
"Health informatics felt like the perfect way to combine my clinical background with my interest in healthcare technology, analytics, and improving healthcare systems."
She earned the degree while adjusting to a new country and navigating her own transition into the U.S. healthcare system. The biggest surprise wasn't in a lecture or a case study. It was realizing her pharmacy background and her new analytics skills weren't competing. They were built to work together.
