Looking back on a great end to the week, both at the Stavros Center and on the road!

On Thursday, teachers dove into NotebookLM and discovered how Gemini can make classroom and teacher life a little easier. Thanks to Angel and Brian for teaching us the ins and outs of the tools of Google!
Out in Polk County, Carrie led workshops on behalf of the Stavros Center on how AI can amplify our classrooms!

Seeing teachers learn, laugh, and leave with new ideas? That’s the impact! If you had a great time, bring a friend to your next workshop! The more, the merrier.

Last night's workshop proved that professional learning can be a game changer, literally.

Educators stepped into the spotlight as contestants played their way through interactive gameshow-style activities. Along the way, we brainstormed dozens of practical strategies for gamifying content to boost engagement, participation, and retention.

Thank you to every educator who showed up ready to play. Your students are in for a bonus round of learning! And thats our final answer!

Our teachers came ready to learn, and they left ready to write!

This past week, our center director, Peter Trakas, presented a grant writing workshop designed to help educators turn classroom ideas into funded projects. From finding opportunities to crafting a compelling application, teachers walked away with tools they can put to use right away.

Here is what some of our participants shared:

💬 "Wonderful one stop shop for grant writing."

💬 "I took 8 pages of legal pad notes!"

💬 "Thank you for helping me feel more confident in the process of grant writing."

A big thank you to Peter for sharing his expertise and to all the educators who joined us. Your passion for your students is what makes these workshops so rewarding!

Lots of teachers joined us Thursday for a conversation about teen gambling, and how important it is for educators, especially in secondary classrooms, to understand the apps, games, trends, and behaviors students may already be encountering.
Thank you to our professionals for attending in to discuss these trends: Ryan Haczynski, David Griffin and Evan H. Dart.
Thank you to Brian and Andrew for leading our panel of experts on the topic.
Thank you to the educators who joined us and brought depth to the conversation.

Teachers, if you're seeing more of your middle and high school students talking about betting apps, parlays, and sports gambling, you're not imagining it. Youth participation in gambling is on the rise, and it's showing up in our classrooms and hallways.

That's why tonight's Stavros Center panel is bringing together experts across psychology, sports, and more to help secondary educators understand what's really going on and how to respond.

Come with your questions. This one's for you.

Last night's doodads workshop at the Gus A. Stavros Center was a wonderful evening of learning and creativity! Educators gathered to explore how sustainable art can be woven into classrooms across every subject area.

Our special guest, Dana Warner, co-founder of the Doodad Project dazzled us with an engaging and moving presentation on how the Doodad Project came to be. Dana also shared practical, engaging strategies for bringing sustainable art into the classroom. One theme came up again and again throughout the night: this approach connects seamlessly to math, literature, science, and history alike.

Thank you to Dana, Lisa, Angel, and every educator who joined us for such an engaging session!
